CHALETS ALPAGA - MEGEVE
LOCATION
L’Alpaga (formerly known as the "Hamlet of
Mavarin") is situated in the heart of the Alps.
At 1,100 metres, this hamlet offers breathtaking
views over Mont Blanc. The ski season runs from
Christmas through to Easter.
Renowned for its prestigious guests who have
stayed there since 1910 and for its beautiful
ski resort, Megeve is a picturesque village
perched between 1,000 and 2,500 metres.
South-facing, the hotel and chalets overlook the
entire Val d’Arly.
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The six wooden chalets, each built over three
floors, are all named after mountain guides.
They blend seamlessly into the countryside
whilst still offering living space with all
modern comforts. The large south-facing
balconies invite guests to sunbathe. Each chalet
consists of a contemporary living space coupled
with traditional details: wooden roof shingles,
exposed beams, carved wooden balconies and
wooden chimney stacks.
The chalet Gaspard comprises four two-bedroom
apartments suitable for families or friends
wanting to enjoy the comfort of a chalet in a
more intimate space.
The 22 bedroom hotel, opposite the six chalets,
accommodates the lobby and bar, a restaurant
with sun terrace, and a superb spa with a dark
stone swimming pool, two treatment booths and a
fitness suite.
THE HOTEL
The hamlet of Alpaga has expanded. As of
December 2009, the Megeve-style L’Alpaga hotel
opened its doors for the first time.
The lobby, restaurant, bar, spa and fitness area
is spread out over three magnificent chalets
facing Mont Blanc, Rochebrune or the Arly
Valley. 22 bedrooms decorated in a contemporary
style all have views over the surrounding
summits. The wood, the stone, the flannel
curtains, cashmere rugs and fake furs confer the
warm, contemporary spirit of a traditional
chalet but within a hotel environment.
Three categories of bedrooms (6 Classic, 12
Luxurious and 4 Prestige) are housed in two
chalets with wide bay windows, some of which
give access to balconies or terraces overlooking
the summits or mountain pastures. There are 2
interconnecting rooms. All the rooms have flat
screen TV, direct telephone line, WIFI,
luxurious bathrooms, and Occitane products.
THE CHALETS
Each 230 sqm traditional Megeve-style chalet
accommodates 6-12 people. Built over 3 floors,
the chalet includes 6 bedrooms (4 adult
bedrooms, 2 children’s bedrooms) and 4
bathrooms. Large south-facing terraces invite
guests to sunbathe whilst gazing over Mont
Blanc.
The garden floor: private
studio with 2 bedrooms of which one has a single
Savoyard bed; a bath or shower and wc, a kitchen
with a dining area and a cosy living room
opening out onto a private terrace, laundry
room, separate wc and washbasin.
The main floor: large living
room with fireplace and deep sofas; wide French
windows opening onto a corner balcony; dining
room with large oak table adjoining the living
room; bedroom with queen-size bed and en-suite
shower room; the study/office has direct
telephone line and WIFI; fully equipped modern
kitchen.
The top floor: 3 charming
bedrooms and 2 bathrooms occupy the top floor
beneath wooden beams. Master bedroom with en
suite bathroom and private balcony; a second
spacious bedroom; In addition, in the attic
there is a room furnished with two child-sized
beds.
Attached to the chalet are three garages, one of
which is heated.
THE CLALET
REINE DES PRES
A few steps from L’Alpaga, the Chalet Reine des
Prés is situated at the foot of the Rochebrune
gondola, only 5 minutes from the centre of
Megève. Its 220 sqm are fitted out in the style
of a luxurious loft, benefiting from open space
and light. Built over 3 floors, it comprises 4
bedrooms and accommodates 8-10 people.
The garden floor: private spa
includes sauna, Jacuzzi and relaxation corner.
It opens out onto a private garden bordered by
tall trees. Fully equipped laundry.
The main floor: divided between
4 large bedrooms, their 4 en suite bathrooms,
embellished with granite and oak (2 with shower,
2 with bath) and 1 separate wc. Each bedroom
opens out onto a balcony.
The top floor: is dedicated to
entertaining. The main room is a large living
room with a granite fireplace surrounded with
club armchairs and leather poufs. Library with
large L-shaped sofa, small equipped office
(direct telephone line, fax and WIFI), dining
room with imposing oak table. Fully equipped
kitchen – all stainless steel and polished oak
joinery. Wide bay windows open onto a pretty
furnished balcony.
Under the eaves: Attic space with 2 children’s
beds and a playroom.
THE GASPARD
APARTMENTS
The chalet consists of 4 independent apartments,
allowing flexible space for families who stay.
The architecture is identical to the Alpaga
chalets, with each apartment having individual
interiors.
Gaspard Apartment 1 (60 m²): On
the garden floor, the apartment opens on to the
hotel’s private garden with views towards Mont
Blanc. It comprises two beautiful double
bedrooms, one bathroom with twin basins, a
shower room and separate wc. An equipped kitchen
opens into the living room with a wood-burning
stove.
Gaspard Apartments 3 and 4 (45 m²):
Each apartment has a balcony and a double
bedroom, a second open-plan room has two
fold-away beds and a small office; a bathroom
and a separate wc. A fully equipped kitchen and
a pretty living room open onto a balcony
offering a magnificent view over mountain
pastures.
Gaspard Apartment 5 (75 m²):
Beneath the wooden beams, the apartment retains
the charm of a secret refuge of yesteryear. It
comprises a bedroom with a double bed in an
alcove, a second bedroom with either a double or
twin beds, a bathroom with twin basins, a shower
room, separate wc, a fully equipped kitchen and
a large living room with wood burning stove,
opening onto the balcony with views over
mountain pastures.
SPA
Dedicated to well-being and serenity, the Spa,
intimate and all in stone, has 2 booths in which
treatments are given using Dr. Hauschka
cosmetics, based on natural ingredients, or the
Italian Comfort Zone products, renowned for its
highly researched formulas.
The leisure pool, fitness suite and the hammam
provide relaxation and pleasure.
RESTAURANT
AND BAR
The contemporary mountain-style restaurant
offering ‘bistronomique’ cuisine
(neologism,combination of bistrot stile and high
cuisine) can seat up to
60 people. In addition, there is a cosy bar with
an impressive contemporary fireplace, ideal for
a relaxing pre or post-dinner drink.
